Re-Colouring My First Luxury Bag

Do you still have your first luxury bag?

The first bag I purchased with my own hard-earned money is the Miu Miu Vitello Lux Bow.

It was the perfect shade of periwinkle blue with a beautiful glaze, my favourite shade of blue to this day. I used it to death. The glaze wore off, it started to turn green and the edges were cracking.

Bags Butler sent me these photos upon receipt of my bag.

As I purchased more bags, I stopped using it but always kept it for sentimental reasons. I thought of giving it a makeover many times over the years.

Then I came across an advertisement on Facebook by the Bags Butler. After enquiring about the price, I agreed. I loved the convenience as they picked up the bag from my home and dropped it off.

After the pick up, they assessed the bag and recommended what was required to give the bag an uplift. I had to top up to fix the gel on the edges.

The whole process took about 5 months. It was acceptable to me as I wasn’t using the bag anyways.

Photos Bags Butler sent me after the repair was complete.

To be honest, when I first received the bag, I was a little disappointed as it looked matte and didn’t have the same glossy look like when I first bought it. The colour looks painted on. It slowly grew on me. After all, it looks great in comparison to what it was before and I needed to be reasonable with my expectations. There was no way it would be the identical to brand new. They have done a fantastic job.

I have used the bag a few times since and it has brought back nostalgic memories. I am so glad my husband was supportive even though he knows I have moved on and wouldn’t use it as often as I should. He totally understands and accepts that I hold on to things for sentimental reasons.
